The bathroom renovation is clipping right along. We added this modern brass lighting and friends, it’s a game-changer in the look and feel of this bathroom.

Modern brass lighting is having a moment, and I’m here for it. Actually, it’s going to last more than a moment. The subtle brushed brass is so soothing and stunning, in contrast to the shiny gold hardware of the ’90s.

For a trip down memory lane, make sure to check out this post of what our bathroom started out like!

When making the mood board for this project, I knew we had to use brushed brass. It adds the perfect warmth and contrast to the newly painted blue vanity and white walls. (Make sure you’re following along on IG as I share the bathroom progress, as well as all my DIY projects in real-time.)

No lightbulbs? Why the Abbey Flush Mount is so amazing

I love good quality and design. The Abbey flush mount has both. It’s all in the details friends. The longer I’m in the DIY and home decor space, the more I’m beginning to appreciate and notice how the small things are the key elements that take a room from pretty, to designer chic.

The brushed, aged brass gives this flush mount the perfect color and tone. It’s soft and feminine.

One of the best things about this light is its LED technology. With the Abbey, you’ll never have to change a light bulb. Ever. For me, that’s a game-changer! It’s also dimmable and puts off a soft, yet bright white light. The perfect combo for a bathroom! You can check out this flush mount at lights.com.

Matchy matchy

To complement the Abbey and keep the brushed bronze light theme going in the bathroom, over the vanity we went with the Prospect 4-light vanity in aged brass. And I’m over here swooning. . .

Isn’t she a beauty? If you have a smaller vanity, Lights.com also has a Prospect 3-light vanity and they both come in matte black and aged brass. I also love the matte black trend hardware that’s happening now. I may even have something up my sleeve with that, so stay tuned.

And what makes this fixture even more appealing to the eye is the light bulbs we used in it. Aren’t they sassy? I just love them!

Here’s another close up of this whole delicious combo.

These bulbs are the Myrtle LED Vintage bulbs from the Lights.com Edison line. You have to check them out. A good bulb elevates any light fixture and adds that special designer touch.

Okay I’m done now, I just wanted to make sure you got to appreciate them enough. 😉

Overall, these lights were crucial to giving this bathroom the look and feel I was after, which I’m going to call farmhouse modern.

In other exciting news, we just got the tile in. Eeek! I can’t wait to share the final reveal with you. It’s been a process! I said upfront it would take about six months since we were doing it between many other projects, homeschooling, and life. But it was worth the wait . . . beyond worth it.

This is my new favorite room in the house, and is leaving me wanting to redo the master bathroom badly! That will have to wait for another year or so though. Until then, I’ll just visit my kids’ bathroom when I’m feeling like a trip to the spa.

Do you have outdated lighting in your home? Lights.com has been my go-to for several home renovations now. From lighted Christmas decor to their beautiful sconces, to the romantic faux candles they have to choose from. Lights.com my first stop for all things lighting.
