Well, I’ve decided it’s time to finally tackle our upstairs bathroom. It’s the largest one we have, and the one our kids use. To get my head around the style I like, I put together a little bathroom mood board. This space has so much potential, but currently, looks like this:

We're up for the challenge of refreshing our 90's yellow bathroom. I'm going towards a modern farmhouse feel, with lots of brass accents and blue, with an accent wall. #bathroommoodboard #bathroommoodboardinspiration

Hard to imagine a change? It needed a bathroom mood board right?

It’s a little scary.

Intimidating

Overwhelmingly . . . yellow.

It almost makes me woozy when I walk in. While we’ve got a lot do to, this mood board is giving me life and I’m excited to get started!

This isn’t our first bathroom refresh. We did one on our guest bathroom a few years ago. I’m actually planning to paint the vanity the same color I used on the shiplap in that bathroom. I also stenciled the most amazing gold bees on the wall and it’s one of my favorite things I’ve done in our house to this day! Check out that refresh if you’re curious!

For this bathroom, I’m thinking a lot of bright white, with cool blues and brass accessories. The flooring with be light cream tile, though I haven’t ruled out a pattern just yet. And to bring a pop of fun, I’ve decided to paint a little feature wall behind the toilet.

The closet doors on the opposite wall from the vanity I’ll also be painting blue, tying the space together and giving it some cohesiveness. I’ll finish it off with a few green plants and possible wood accents like a stool for the kids, making the room feel calm and inviting. A place you’d love to relax with a bubble bath or get ready in the mornings.

What do you think?

Loving the blues as much as I do?
