A Dreamy Outdoor Wooden Table And My Plans For It
I’ve been dreaming of a Pinterest-worthy, long, outdoor wooden table for years. And finally, my dreams are a reality.
Travis is officially a woodworker. I mean, to me, he has been for several years now. Making my desk, kitchen table, garden beds, our chicken coop, and on and on. When he’s not making something, he’s researching and learning from youtube and articles. He searches Pinterest for wood projects like I search for home decor. He’s obsessed. And finally, I think he’s ready to own the fact that he makes beautiful things. (It’s been years of me convincing him he’s talented to get to this point) And our new outdoor wooden table is his best work yet.
We went from this:
To this:
Photos don’t even do it justice. It’s absolutely stunning.
I am a hostess to my core. It’s my favorite when people come to my home. I love preparing for a gathering, decorating if it requires, making a meal, simply or ornate, and enjoying the company of those I cherish. When you walk through my door, you’re family.
We aren’t fussy people, I want you to feel at home. If we’re friends, what’s mine is yours.
And since we host so much, I try to make things easy on us. It’s not fun to get out and put away tables after every dinner or party. Plus, the plastic tables and chairs are flimsy and often uncomfortable. I wanted something sturdy, that could stand the test of time and always be ready to go.
So Travis build it for me.
And I can’t get over how perfect it is. I sat at it on Saturday morning, coffee in hand imagining all the memories that will be made around it.
And I can’t wait to see how many ways I can decorate it and all the tablescapes running around in my head.
For today, these beautify blossoms from our front tree served as the perfect complement to the cherry wood top.
And these new aqua glasses from the Martha Stewart line also made my day. If you’ve been here for awhile, you know how much I love my glassware.
Do you use your backyard a lot? To me, it’s almost more important than the house itself. For the warm months, we live outdoors. It’s where I want my kids to be, and where they love to play. So much happens outside, and I’m here for it. Me and my new table.
Hi there, would you be willing to share his building plans for this table? We are hosting a farm to table dinner and I would love to have someone build me 6 of these tables!
He didn’t use a plan to make it, he just did it from his head. But I’m sure you can find plans similar to this one on Pinterest! I’m hoping to pin him down at one point to write out the plans, but it’s been a busy summer so far!
If you’re local he’d be willing to make them! Based on the price of wood and labor, each table costs $2,700. And the benches are $200 each additional. 🙂
I actually live in Wisconsin otherwise I would take him up on that. Thank you so much!
