Saturday Snippets | Spring Fever Addition
Oh, friends . . . are you feeling spring fever too? An anxiousness to begin the next season that seems to grow larger by the day?
By the end of January, I’m itching to be outside. To bury my hands in the dirt. To watch things grow. Feel the warmth of the sun on my face. To smell the awakening of the earth as it prepares to bring forth all things green and beautiful. Spring fever has hit me hard.
Sadly though, in the Pacific Northwest, we have a few more months of snow and cold ahead. What’s a girl to do? Order seeds of course!
Racing for flower seeds
Floret had their annual seed sale a few weeks ago. I was in the shower and heard the ding of an email on my phone. Once out and towel raped securely around me, I glanced at the email. The Floret sale was live. Like an absolute fool, I raced downstairs to the office, and purchased my seeds so fast it would have impressed just about anyone had they been a fly on the wall.
What was six pages of flowers to choose from on their site quickly went to one page with 15 seed options left. Erin, the owner of Floret, sells out within minutes on her most popular varieties. Thankfully, I was able to grab everything I wanted, and the rest of the day I floated around on cloud nine.
The seed packets arrived yesterday and I can’t tell you how happy just holding them meant to me. Just imagining the beautiful bouquets that would come out of the tiny packets of potential within my two hands.
Don’t throw your seed packets away. DIY with them!
The seed packets that Floret uses for their flowers are so beautiful, I wasn’t able to throw my old ones away. So I kept them but had no plans exactly on how to use them. Until this past week, that is. When I created a spring mantle and suddenly knew their next purpose.
They are perfect for decorating with!

I’ve been playing a lot with sourdough recipes lately, and they are easy and delicious, plus so much better for the gut! So far I’ve made:
- Traditional sourdough round loaves
- Sandwhich bread sourdough
- bagles
- cheesy chips
- Enlglish muffins
- even Pie Crust
My favorite two Instagram accounts to follow along with for great sourdough recipes and tips are Lisa from Farmhouse On Boon and Hannah from Ballerina Farm. They’re constantly making sourdough in their stories, and Lisa shares great recipes on her blog. And hey, are you following me on IG yet? I share lots of goodies in stories too!
Valentines Goodies
Valentine’s is only a few weeks away, and I love to bust out some bright and cheery decor to celebrate. It comes at the perfect time to help lift the spirits during the cold and dreary winter months. To check out that post and all the home and kitchen decor I shared, head there below!
Things I’m loving this week
This shirt I just purchased from Amazon. It’s so cozy and fits perfectly!
Have you heard of Rub and Buff? You can basically change any metal to gold or the other colors they offer by rubbing a small amount onto the item of your choosing!
I have two of these proofing baskets for sourdough and they work so well for beautiful round loaves!
And that’s all for Saturday Snippets friends. I hope you have an enjoyable, relaxing weekend!
