These no-bake chocolate peanut butter protein squares are the perfect hot weather treat! Keep them in the fridge or freezer and they’ll be a yummy snack when you want something healthy that requires little to no effort.
I first posted about the protein squares on Instagram, but they’re so good they needed to have a permeant spot on the blog.
This post is in partnership with NOW®. All opinions are my own. For my full policies and disclosures, see here.
Make in 5 minutes
The best part about these protein squares besides the fact that they’re absolutely delicious? They’re lightning-fast to make. Five minutes and the tray of squares is sitting pretty in the freezer. Another 30 minutes and you’re slicing them up and snacking. I’m here for it.
These have the whole family’s approval, and that’s a big deal around here! Evelyn and Tyrion couldn’t stop asking for more!
Throw and go
All you’ve got to do is throw all the ingredients in a bowl, mix, press into a pan, freeze, and cut.
So easy and perfect for a quick grab-and-go snack the whole family can enjoy.
I always have a tub of these in the freezer and when the kids say they’re starving before a meal, I’ll give them a square to tie them over until we sit down to eat.

Can you go wrong with a recipe that has chocolate chips in it?
I think not. Use mini chocolate chips for even better dispersion throughout the squares. That’s what I intended to grab when shopping for this recipe, but got home and realized they were regular size. Recipe maker fail.
You could also use Lily’s no sugar added baking chips if you’re trying to keep the sugar down. Manuka honey and nut butter give these the perfect sweet and salty combo that’s going to keep you reaching for more.
- 1.5 cups NOW rolled oats
- 1/2 cup NOW creamy chocolate whey protein powder
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips (mini works best)
- 3/4 cup NOW nut butter of choice
- 4 Tbsp NOW Manuka honey
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 Tbsp NOW date sugar (not necessary but recommended!)
- 1.5 Tbsp water
Place all ingredients in a bowl and stir until mixed. Pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan and press down evenly. Freeze for 30 minutes.
Remove from freezer, and cut into 1.5 inch squares. Placed in a container and put back in fridge or freezer. Keep for up to two weeks in the fridge or three months in the freezer. I doubt they’ll last that long though!
