One Room Challenge Week 3 Patio Update
Friends friends friends . . . why must it rain so much during this Patio creation?
Thankfully, this was the last week of torrential downpours in our area. And oddly enough, this truly isn’t normal for our neck of the woods. Looking back on last years pictures during this time we already had plants in full bloom and the kids were swimming on the daily. The rain will not ruin our patio progress though! We did get a lot done this week!

DIY Wood Chair
This week Travis completed the chair that goes with these cushions I purchased. He used this pattern. It took about two hours, $40 worth of wood and about $6 worth of screws. The cushions are suppose to come tomorrow! Excited to try it out!
Travis’s small revisions to the chair plan:
Pre-drill all screw holes on the top arm bar. When Travis didn’t pre-drill them the wood split, even when using the self tapping screws recommended in the plans.
Porch Swing
We also received our porch swing. The swing purchased without the A-frame was much more budget friendly, and after some research we decided Travis could make the A-frame easily and keep us on budget. We used this plan for the A-frame.
Plants and Containers
I also purchased a fern, though the ones at the store were pretty picked through. My friend recommended these faux ones off of Amazon, and I may pick up a couple packs if I can’t find any other healthy looking ones.
I’m waiting to get some of the ceramic containers from our local Fred Meyer. They have lots of good deals throughout the spring and early summer.
Here is our purchases and recommendations so far:
And that’s it for this update. Week four is going to bring a ton of progress though, so stay tuned.
