Why I Finally Invested in a Quality Christmas Tree: A King of Christmas Review
There’s something magical about the holiday season that makes everything feel a bit brighter. I’ve always been a sucker for a good Christmas tree—it’s the heart of holiday decor, after all.

This post is in partnership with King of Christmas, who kindly provided the tree for review. All opinions are my own.
But I’ll admit, in the past, I’ve tried to go the budget-friendly route when it came to artificial trees.
I grabbed a few “deals” from Amazon and other places over the years, and let’s just say they looked, well, cheap. It’s the kind of thing you can fudge for a year or two, but eventually, the quality—or lack thereof—really starts to show. And I was sick of dealing with them shedding plastic needles as if they were a real tree. Anyone else been there?
Plus, I’m really trying to step back from the “throw away mentality” and opting instead for timeless quality pieces that don’t end up in the trash after a few seasons of use.
This year, I finally decided it was time to upgrade. I’ve been eyeing King of Christmas trees for what feels like forever, and let me tell you, they do not disappoint.
They sent me the 7.5’ Rushmore Fir Artificial Christmas Tree with 750 warm white LED lights, and it’s just as beautiful as I’d hoped. We went with this tree because it reminds me of the ones we used to tromp through the forest to find when I was a kid.
None of those super fluffy ones where ornaments just sit on top of the branches—this one has that classic, layered look that takes me right back to my childhood and the snow laden forests of Washington State in December.

Why I Chose King of Christmas
Okay, let’s start with why I finally went with a King of Christmas tree. Aside from the fact that their trees are gorgeous (seriously, they’re handcrafted to mirror the beauty of the real Ponderosa Pines), I was just over dealing with cheap trees that didn’t last. I wanted something that would stand the test of time, season after season. So, when King of Christmas reached out for a partnership, it felt like the perfect fit.

All the Things I Love About the Rushmore Fir
Lifelike Aesthetic:
The Rushmore Fir is stunning. It’s layered, realistic, and looks like we just brought it in from the woods. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked by and had to remind myself it’s not a real tree! Unlike those overly fluffy trees where ornaments seem to just “sit” on the branches, this one has that natural, layered look that lets my ornaments hang just right.

Power Pole Technology:
If you’ve ever struggled with tangled wires and complicated setups (I know I have), you’re going to love this feature. The tree lights up with a seamless connection—no more hunting for plugs or dealing with messy wires. It’s literally plug-and-play. In the past, I’ve spent way too much time trying to get the lights just right, and it was such a headache. Not this year!
Pre-Lit Elegance:
Can we talk about these lights? The 750 warm white LEDs are professionally arranged, and the wiring is camouflaged perfectly. It gives the tree that clean, sophisticated look. It’s exactly the cozy glow I was hoping for this season. And I love the different settings they offer. My favorite is the twinkle lights. And did I mention it comes with a remote?
Sturdy Metal Stand:
One of my biggest pet peeves with cheaper trees is how flimsy they are. (Hello house of cats who all love to climb the Christmas trees!) You start decorating, and they tilt, wobble, or even topple over. Not this one. The Rushmore Fir comes with a sturdy metal stand that keeps it in place, no matter how many ornaments, garlands, or cats, I throw at it.
Durability and Longevity:
This tree is handcrafted with high-quality materials meant to last for years. No more plastic needles falling off by the end of the season. I wanted a tree that would become a part of our family’s holiday traditions, and this one is definitely built for that.
Fire-Resistant:
It’s comforting to know that the tree is made with fire-resistant materials. We all want to make our homes cozy and festive, but safety comes first, right?
Storage Bag Included:
This might seem like a small thing, but it’s actually a huge win for me. The tree comes with an exclusive zippered storage bag, making it super easy to pack away and keep protected until next year. No more struggling with ill-fitting boxes or makeshift storage!
Why This Tree Brings Back Childhood Memories
The layered, natural look of the Rushmore Fir makes me nostalgic. It takes me back to the days when we’d head out to the forest to cut down our tree. We didn’t have those super fluffy, picture-perfect trees back then.
My parents thought it was silly to pay for a a tree from the store when we had a forest full of them in the backyard.
Sometimes we even cut town two Charlie Brown Christmas trees and tied them together to make one fluffy one! We had real trees with character—gaps, uneven branches, and all. And that’s what this tree brings to our home: that sense of authenticity and childhood magic. I wanted a tree that felt like it belonged in our family, and this one does.

Final Thoughts on our King Of Christmas Fir
Honestly, this King of Christmas tree has exceeded all my expectations. It looks beautiful, was a breeze to set up, (Took less than 10 minutes) and I know it’s going to last us for many holidays to come.
Investing in a quality tree has made all the difference, and I couldn’t be happier with the Rushmore Fir.
