Staying Active in the Fall with Ellie Activewear
Fall is in full force in the great Pacific Northwest. Frosty mornings and crisp color filled days make for such a fun time of year. Is it just me though or do you also find it harder to actually steal time away to get out there and enjoy this fun season? Things like back to school, kids homework, more obligations, and shorter days lead to less time outdoors. Staying active also seems to get a little more difficult.

What if you could kill two birds with one stone and enjoy the outdoors while taking a hike and getting your activity in for the day? Ellie is all about helping you get outdoors this fall with their cozy and comfy three piece October box. Perfect to help you hit the trails in an extremely comfortable way.
My opinion of  the high quality Ellie Activewear are 100% my own. I would never recommend something I don’t believe in, or have never used. For more information, see my disclosures here.
This is the first month Ellie decided not to add a bra in their box. Instead they replaced it with a high quality jacket that’s perfect for staying active in the chillier temps.
Warm but still breathable, it’s great for wearing when running errands around town to running on an outdoor trail. I’ve been wearing it every morning to Crossfit and during the warm ups. I love how non-constricting it is. Also being tall I appreciate more than anything the length of the sleeves and how well they fit.
The jacket also has two hidden inside pockets that are very deep. Perfect for putting my ID, cash, and phone in and not worrying they are going to pop out while I’m workout out. The pants also have a key pocket built into the seam of the waist. They really made this outfit perfect for stashing things. Am I the only one that loves clothes that have lots of pockets? As a mom it’s really a must.
And speaking of the pants, aren’t they such a fun pattern?
They also have a warm, almost fuzzy feel on the inside, but it’s not so warm that you’re dying a mile into your run. Cozy but breathable. Whoever picks the materials for Ellie is spot on with knowing what works for the active person. I’m digging their color combos as well. Each month is like Christmas when my box arrives. I can’t wait to tear it open and see what fun patterns and styles they surprise me with.
The shirt is just as great as the jacket and pants. The color blocking on it is fun and the back is to die for.
I pared my October outfit with the bra from last month’s box.

Staying Active Fall Ideas
- Memorize a couple fun outdoor workout ideas off Pinterest
- Get the AllTrails app and find some fun new spots to explore
- Go apple picking
- Make plans with a friend to go on a hike together once a week
- Create a scavenger hunt with your kids
- Take an evening stroll with the family through the neighborhood before or after dinner each night
Staying safe and prepared when fall exploring
Even if you only plan on being out for half an hour, staying safe is top priority and you need to be prepared for anything. Always carry along the following which are great to have in the car or on your person at all times, hiking or not!
- First aid kit
- Water bottle or Camel Pack
- Pack of emergency thermal blankets
- Bars/snacks (These are one of my favorites)
- Tell someone where you’re going and the time frame you should be gone
- Pepper spray (I love this one and carry it on all my runs/when I’m out with the kids)
- Map or a general idea of the area
I can’t stress the pepper spray enough. I use to think I was invincible and that none of those scary abduction or attack stories you hear about happening to other runners/outdoorsy people would happen to me. But, a couple really scary moments when I was running alone sobered me up to the fact that no-one is invincible and it’s important to carry some form of protection. I hope we never have to use it, but better to stay safe than be very very sorry.
